Laura Davis

Welcome to my website!

I write mainly about ‘peace and justice’ – that is, how societies, particularly those in or emerging from violent conflict, can address the legacies of large scale human rights violations and prevent their recurrence. I am particularly interested in how transitional justice measures can be taken into account – or not – during peace mediation processes. I work mainly in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East.

I combine academic research with policy-oriented writing and hands-on practice. My academic work focuses on EU foreign policy, as well as peace and justice and EU foreign policy. Through my consultancy practice I work with non-governmental organisations and government agencies on peacebuilding and transitional justice issues, including supporting peace processes, and on empowering women.

Needless to say, the opinions I express here are my own.
